Sunrise Minyan

from $50.00

The three word mantra I had while painting this landscape was “colourful, spiritual, and nostalgic”

Our sages teach us that sunrise (neitz) is the ideal time to pray in and I wanted to capture this sunrise in a similarly idealised, spiritual way. To do this I amped up the saturation to add a dreamy quality to the painting. I also abstracted the kotel wall to save the details for the sky and praying men.

I absolutely love how the finished piece looks. It has all the essence of the Western Wall while still leaving plenty of artistic license for creativity, colour, and concept.
